10.99 km.
Walked down to get a newspaper in the morning and extended the walk as it was such a beautiful day. Worked at home, then went up to the University. Walked around parking lots.

Day Nineteen

15.27km. Two walks again today. In and out of work and then in the evening a nice walk down to the south side of town for a pot-luck. Made bread. Another scorching day.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Day Eighteen

7.34 km
Long day at work. Lots of inside walking with outside breaks. Class walk in the morning and pinhole photo in the afternoon. Left for home in early evening light, put my feet up.

Day Seventeen

12.02 km
Nice day. Two separate walks. Morning and evening. First errands then pleasure.

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Day Sixteen

4.25 km
Not much walking today, but did it in Edmonton, Red Deer, and Lethbridge. Drove most of the day.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Day Fifteen

12.26km
I was interested by all the trolley bus wires in Edmonton, but a I haven't seen any trolley busses yet. An empty promise? Lots of walking back and forth today. Followed by pleasant social activities.

Friday, September 18, 2009

Day Fourteen

6.21km
Back in Edmonton. Long day driving - not much wandering around till late in the day. Movies in the square.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Day Thirteen

10.03km
Another semi-erratic day. Two distinct waks though. One on the West side and one on the north side. Got some errands done as well.
Weather hot and windy with some very brief rain showers. late summer, no frost yet but the leaves are already falling.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Day Twelve

10.11km
An erratic day today. Spent time in the yard and house - after most of a day inside at work. A bit of a blur.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Day Eleven

8.30km.
Another day spent mostly inside although I managed to get out for an hour or so. Tomorrow looks better on the walking front.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Day Ten

Only 7.25km today. 143.61km total in ten days (plus a little bit of set-up walking)

Paperwork all day, definitely cuts into the walking time. Almost all inside today, walking in circles mostly. Not much mileage  but I'm still making good time, almost to High River.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Day Nine

10.04km
Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines. Spent all day in front of computers and piles of paper and stacks of binders. Not much walking except down the corridor to the photocopier. Did get out for a bit in the evening. Then had to go out later and walk rapidly around the block a few times.

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Day Eight

10.02km
My newspaper wasn't on the doorstep this morning so had to walk down to the shop to pick up a copy. A mixed blessing - it was a beautiful morning and I got a short walk out of it but then my newspaper wasn't delivered. Stayed in the house working most of the day but then went for a longer walk in the evening.

Friday, September 11, 2009

Day Seven

13.52km
Walking through a pleasant evening with the scent of wood smoke in the air. What a skewed vision.
I've been noticing that the map images are not that accurate in the placement of the cartographic info in relation to my walks.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Day Six

13.25km.
Went for a quick 10k walk after work. Went downtown for a cup of tea and a cookie at Bonnie's. On the way back stopped at the grocery store again for a few things. Capers, Mustard, and tinned salmon, the eggplant was too expensive though. While there spotted the Lethbridge Herald front page with the story about an arson attack. The attack occurred the night before my return from Edmonton and I've been waiting to see some media coverage. Current evidence shows it to be a targeted hate crime against some wonderful, gentle artists who are friends and colleagues. And their child.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Day Five

10.51km
Spent most of the day in the office in meetings so went for a long walk after work in order to pick up essential supplies.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Day Four

Went to the University this morning (motorcycle). Walked 5km without leaving the building. Came home and walked to the grocery store. Bought chick peas, rice chips, sausages, turnip, mushrooms, cabbage, bell peppers, lunch meat.
10.03km today.

Monday, September 7, 2009

Day Three

18.2km.
Lethbridge. Windy. Cold wind but sunny otherwise. Walked up to the University, round and about , then back through downtown to home again.
Beautiful walk through the coulee that divides the town into east and west sides. Strong constant winds mean lots of garbage caught in trees and bushes, plastic bags particularly.
